Global Access Control Setup Screen
About Global Access Control Setup
For first time access to this setup, no passwords will display and the Access Control needs to be set up.
More buttons become available once a user has been created and selected.
How to Set Up the Global Access Control Screen

A message will notify the Super User or VIP Payroll Consultant that there must be at least one Super User defined for the user to be able to exit this screen.
This will ensure that a user does not exit this screen without having defined at least one user that can access the Global Access Control Setup Screen.
The Super User will have a ‘*’ as in indicator on the user list, to easily identify users flagged as Super Users in the directory. The Super User indicator will also reflect on the Print Access List as a YES or NO.

Print Users will create a hardcopy extract of the users defined on screen.
This report can be used to:
- See which users have been defined in the directory (for audit purposes),
- Which users are Super Users,
- Which users are logged in before a system upgrade is done; a backup restored; etc., and
- Which users have locked accounts.

Password Control will be applied to the Global Access Login Screen, and not to the individual company access.
Password Control will be enforced and will default to the following:
- Minimum Password Length: 5
- Password Complexity Policy: Both Alpha and Numeric Characters
- Use the same Password again?: No
- User cannot use same Password: 3 times
- Password Renewal After: 90 days
- Failed Login Attempts: 3
- Allow Multiple Logins: Not ticked
- Allow User Name and Password to be the same: Not ticked
Password Complexity Policy
The following selections are available:
- Both Alpha AND Numeric Characters,
- Alpha Only,
- Numeric Only,
- Upper Alpha, Lower Alpha AND Numeric Characters,
- Upper Alpha, Lower Alpha AND Special Characters,
- Upper Alpha, Lower Alpha, Numeric AND Special Characters,
- Upper Alpha, Numeric AND Special Characters, and
- Lower Alpha, Numeric AND Special Characters.
Use the same Password again?
If the Use the same Password again? option is set to Yes, then the User cannot use same Password option will not be displayed.
Password Renewal After
If Password Renewal After is set up on Password Control for 30, 60 or 90 days, the system will force new users to change their password on their first login attempt on the Global Access Login Screen.
If Password Renewal After is set to Not used, the above is not applicable and new users will be able to log in with the passwords allocated to them by their Super User and have the option to change their passwords via the Change Password option on the Global Access Login Screen.
Failed Login Attempts
The Failed Login Attempts option will only be available with Password Control in Global Access. Password Control for normal Advanced Access Control will not have this option available.
Allow User Name and Password to be the same
If this option is un-ticked, you will not be able to add or change a Password if the Password is the same as the User Name.

A <Synchronize> button will be available on the Global Access Control Setup Screen. The purpose of this button is to synchronise Access Control details to all companies in the directory.
This option is only available to a Super-User or VIP Payroll Consultant.
Read the tooltip for more information.
When should I use this button?
This option will only be necessary to use if a backup is restored, as the synchronisation takes place automatically when changes are made in the Global Access Control Setup.
Sync User Button
All users should be logged out before a Sync Users can be performed.
The system will confirm that the Sync process was completed.
